This Power over Ethernet Copper to Fiber Media Converter enables enterprises to provide power to network devices over the existing CAT5 data connection.

The Power over Ethernet (POE) converter emulates IEEE 802.3af Power Sourcing Equipment (PSE), and is compatible with Powered Devices (PD) that comply with the draft IEEE 802.3af standard. The Power over Ethernet (POE) converter will detect the presence of a device that needs power and inject the applicable current into the data cable.

Transition stand-alone power over Ethernet media converter is an attractive solution for delivering power over CAT5 to powered devices such as access points, Voice over IP (VoIP) products, access servers, outdoor routers, and internet kiosks. It allows for use of fiber switches with POE solution on remote end.
