The IBM Flex System Console Breakout Cable (option 81Y5286) is used to connect external I/O devices to IBM Flex System compute nodes, such as the IBM Flex System x240 compute node, and management nodes, such as the IBM Flex System management node that are in the IBM Flex System Enterprise Chassis.

The console breakout cable connects to a single compute node or management node through the keyboard, video, and monitor (KVM) connector on the node bezel. The console breakout cable has connectors for a display device (video), two USB connectors for a USB keyboard and mouse, and a serial interface connector.
