This Fast Ethernet media converter solution provides a fully-managed conversion between 100BaseTX and 100BaseFX signals at the Central Office (CO) and Customer Premises.
With the Remotely Managed Fast Ethernet Media Converter, service providers can now monitor and manage the entire optical link from the CO to the Customer Premise Equipment (CPE). They also have the ability to remotely change the bandwidth offered to the customer in increments of 64 KBps and choose the appropriate mode of connection straight from their Network Management Centers.

Active Bandwidth Allocation in increments of 64Kbps:
Remotely change the bandwidth offered to the customer in the increments of 64kbps using SNMP Focal point GUI interface, Web Browser, telnet or Command line Interface (CLI)
Loopback Local& Remote:
Request to remote standalone unit enables easy maintenance and troubleshooting without the need for a truck roll.
Bandwidth utilization report:
Allows service providers to gather information about customers' bandwidth utilization. This information, in conjunction with Transition Networks' Focal Point 2 Collector Application, can automatically be recorded in the database and used to support service level agreements (SLAs) or reported back to the customer.
N-Way Auto-Negotiation:
Only Transition Networks guarantees compatibility with any 10/100 compliant port. This feature allows you to force the proper port configuration through an external switch on the converter.
AutoCross:
Eliminates an entire category of network troubleshooting by automatically matching crossed and uncrossed cables to the appropriate connection. The twisted pair port is instantaneously configured to the correct MDI or MDI-X configuration.
Link Pass Through:
Automatically detects and reports loss of link on a connection using Link Pass Through.
Far End Fault Detection
Link Restoration:
The converters will automatically re-establish link when connected to two 10/100 auto-negotiating switches if link is lost. With other manufacturers' converters the user must intervene to re-establish link.
Pause:
Transition Networks’ conversion products will generate PAUSE signaling; allowing devices which are pause-enabled to operate properly. -
