HighPoint's RockeMate 110 is a removable hard disk drive case designed to work in conjunction with the Rocket series of IDE RAID Host adapters. With RocketMate 110, users can safely hot-swap a failed hard disk drive with a fresh hard disk, then recover and rebuild the damaged RAID array - all without powering down the computer, or interrupting the computer's operations. The RocketMate 110 can also be utilized as a stand-alone removable device bay for use with IDE hard disk drives - a simple and effective tool for any users' removable storage needs.
With standard ATA transfer rates approaching 133MB/s, ATA-133 standards require more efficient signal quality. When a hard drive case is used to connect a hard disk drive to a standard IDE cable, it will extend the length of data transfer, and as a result, lower the quality of the data transfer. This may jeopardize a drive's stability, and increases the chance for data errors.
