The SmartSource Expert Elite combines the high speed and compact footprint of the Elite Series with the network functionality of the SmartSource Expert to deliver a PC-independent scanner that's ideal for use with decentralized workstations and virtual environments.
A built-in processor and memory run all the necessary API files - solving many bandwidth and compatibility issues. Key functions such as MICR/OCR reading, image cleanup and formatting, and compression all happen onboard the scanner itself, before the image is passed to the workstation. The Expert Elite can communicate over an Ethernet connection with any PC on the branch network, without any loss of performance.
