NetCloud Exchange SD-WAN is a service of the NetCloud Exchange (NCX) platform. The NCX SD-WAN service delivers SD-WAN services with a specific focus of optimizing 5G. NCX SD-WAN provides application, resource, and named resource traffic steering, traffic classification, and an application quality of experience (QoE) dashboard.
Built on zero trust principles and the Secure Connect foundation, NCX SD-WAN capabilities reside at the network level leveraging shared functions like profiling over 3,500 applications and providing visibility into end-to-end traffic flows.
NCX SD-WAN is built for cellular simplicity and breadth. SD-WAN, providing visibility into the cellular service providers, can steer traffic to a specific provider, a specific WAN interface or a mix of service providers and interfaces. Rather than using less accurate artificial traffic measurements that consume bandwidth and require scheduling, NCX SD-WAN uses inline traffic to measure application performance to eliminate those constraints.
If traffic steering is already configured on a router and an NCX SD-WAN policy is applied to it, the policy overrules the values configured in the NetCloud OS. To achieve clean configuration without any vestiges, consider removing any existing local traffic steering configuration before applying NCX SD-WAN policies.
