Getting Details
This multi-display splitter connects two 4K or 8K DisplayPort monitors, projectors or televisions to the DisplayPort output on your laptop or desktop computer. Recommended for digital signage in schools, churches, trade shows, hotels, office conference rooms, restaurants, bars and retail outlets, the B156-002-8K helps you create video walls, give audio/video presentations in front of large audiences or stream 4K/8K video to multiple locations.
By connecting the DisplayPort input to a source that supports DisplayPort MST Mode, you may connect two monitors simultaneously. This allows you to display the same image on each monitor, extend your host desktop across both monitors or combine both monitors into one large display as a video wall. LED indicators let you know which monitors are receiving an AV signal.
The B156-002-8K supports Ultra HD resolutions up to 3840 x 2160 at 60 Hz per monitor with 12-bit Deep Color and 2-channel LPCM audio in extended desktop and mirror modes. In video wall mode, it supports expanded resolutions, including 7680 x 2160 at 60 Hz (2x1 vertical configuration) and 3840 x 4320 at 60 Hz (1x2 horizontal configuration). The B156-002-8K is compliant with DisplayPort 1.4 standards and is backward compatible with previous versions. Note: When in video wall mode, it is recommended to use monitors of the same brand and model to ensure full functionality.
The B156-002-8K supports HDR (High Dynamic Range), providing a wide range of vibrant colors with richer contrast, brighter whites and deeper blacks that pop on your 4K display. HDCP 2.3 encryption allows you to stream 4K content with no complications. This splitter also supports uncompressed 4:4:4 chroma subsampling for top-level PC gaming or using your HDTV as a PC monitor.
Just connect your source device and your monitors with user-supplied DisplayPort cables up to 15 feet (4.6 meters). No software or drivers are needed. Plug the included external power supply into a compatible AC outlet. Four international plug adapters (North America, Europe, U.K., Australia) are also included. Rugged metal enclosure comes with detachable brackets for mounting on a level surface.
The B156-002-8K is compliant with the Federal Trade Agreements Act (TAA), which makes it eligible for GSA (General Services Administration) Schedule and other federal procurement contracts.

A computer with a DisplayPort 1.4 compatible graphics card (e.g. AMD Radeon with AMD Eyefinity technology). Backward compatible with most DisplayPort 1.1a equipment running current graphics drivers. The feature set is limited to that of the attached equipment (e.g. you may be limited to displaying in clone/mirror mode only). Compatibility with older graphics cards is not guaranteed.
Mac OS X does not support MST for NVIDIA and Intel graphics processor units, limiting video display on the connected monitors to mirror mode.
DisplayPort 1.4 bandwidth is 32.4 Gbps. Higher resolution monitors take up more bandwidth. Although DisplayPort monitors support video resolutions up to 3840 x 2160 on individual monitors, the number of 4K monitors connected at the same time is limited.
