This space-saving desktop switch transmits data over a Gigabit Ethernet (GbE) network. Two GbE SFP ports connect to user-supplied SFP modules (sold separately) for uplinking data to other switches via optical fiber or copper. LEDs indicate interface traffic.

The NGS8C2-1 is browser-based and works independently from the connected computer's operating system. Because switch compatibility is based on common hardware standards, rather than system software dependencies, the NGS8C2-1 accommodates most platforms. Preferred web browsers include Google Chrome (on both Windows and macOS) and Microsoft Edge (Windows only).
Versatile Installation Options
The heavy-duty metal housing can be positioned on a level surface using the included rubber feet to minimize external vibration or mounted into 1U of an EIA-standard 19-inch rack using the included brackets and screws. The detachable C14 to C13 power cord connects to a protected UPS, generator or mains input AC source.
