The USB serial adapter cable is a dongle with a USB A connector on one end and a DB-9 (M) connector on the other. It provides an external plug-and-play RS-232 male serial connection to your computer’s USB A host port, or to an external USB hub’s downstream port. The onboard, proprietary circuitry under the DB-9 hood guarantees 100% compatibility with all serial RS-232 devices. Installation is easy - simply plug a serial device into the UC-232A adapter and plug the USB port into the computer.

This adapter is fully compliant with USB 1.1, supports automatic handshake mode and remote wake-up and power management, and has a data transfer rate of over 500kbps. It works with cellular phones, PDAs, digital cameras, modems, and ISDN terminal adapters, andit leaves your RS-232 ports available for other uses.
