This 10-port gigabit switch is ideal to extend the port count of a small FortiGate. There are 8 access ports and 2 are uplink ports for connection to the FortiGate. This device allows customers who have run out of ports on their FortiGate to extend their Interface count with an additional 8 ports. Furthermore, these 8 ports can physically be located in a different location in the network and simplifies installation.

The FortiSwitch-28C, when paired with FortiGate security appliances enables IT to create a Fortified access edge for your enterprise. Devices connecting to at remote premise are first identified and the user is authenticated. Once authenticated, appropriate policy as defined by IT is applied to contain the access of the device thus providing the Fortified access edge. The FortiSwitch platforms are purpose-built to meet the Ethernet infrastructure and provisioning needs of today's network edge. You can scale up/out your operations performance needs with ease of use and low cost of ownership.
