Masco wanted to assess VMware's virtual desktop solution to see if it would support their move from a physical desktop call center to a virtual call center, but they lacked the hardware, expertise, and the time needed to tackle the project.
They already had a good portion of their server infrastructure in a virtual environment, so moving to VDI made sense. The first step was to evaluate how existing applications would perform in their environment - a Proof of Concept Appliance was initiated. Once testing began, analytics helped to capture and quantify effects to the infrastructure which helped determine the next steps.
